Overcoming Fear...

Dear all,

I wish to share with you my thoughts as i read the scriptures this morning.

2 timothy 1:7

" For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind."

This is what I believe,  Paul is telling us.  Whenever fear strikes us in our daily lives we need to run to God immediately.Don't waste time brooding and worrying about the outcome of things that might happen.

Instead ask for God's help. we need to tap in the power of God. If we try to figure it out using our own strength we will fail. Remember Peter when he tried walking in water, he failed when he used his own strength, but he called out to the Lord (Mathew 14:30). He had the right response , He asked the Lord's help. "Lord save me is the best response"

We need to humble ourselves and realise that we cannot use our own human strength or understandings. We need to empty ourselves completely and lean on Him.

So how do we do it? We need to fight all our battles on our knees. There is no short cut.

It is written in the scriptures that Jesus has redeemed us from all fear by his BLOOD. For fear he has given us LOVE. 1 John 4:18 says "There is no fear in love , but perfect love casts out fear". We need to ASK our Father in a believers faith, trusting faith and expectant faith, that He will impart in us Christ Love and to remove all our torments out of fear. As we do that , fear will lose its grip on us.

We need to ask God to give us a sound mind that is operating according to God's Word. The strength of a sound mind is the WORD OF GOD. The more we know God's promises and the more we live according His commandments, the greater our strength to withstand fear.

Jesus used scripture to fight temptation in the desert...

By his example Jesus has shown us, when we are gripped by fear, to turn our gaze on God, redirect our heart to LOVE, then speak to your fear from the WORD OF GOD, and then respond boldly to the situation. Because at this point , you have allowed the Holy Spirit to prompt to you the right action to take.

How wonderful, now we receive supernatural help from the Father who sends his mighty angels to minister to you and change  your environment and change your circumstances. For the angels harken to the voice of God to do his pleasure. The good news is YOU and I are His pleasure. His pleasure is to delight us. Wow!!!!

All we need to do is, no matter what our circumstances are, no matter what mistakes we have made that has got us in the situation we are in, when we run to Him, and repent and do what He tells us to do in Joshua 1:8 "Meditate on his word day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

We have a good God who is loving and merciful. He so ever willing to help us.

I believe in my heart very strongly that no amount of uncertainties in my life is going to bring me down, for my security is in Jesus. No matter how things look like, I believe, my God always makes all things to come together for good, for those who love God, and are called for a purpose.(Rom 8:28)

Everything that I undergo in my life is allowed by God and I believe it is to mold me into the person He has designed me to become. Now my heart is so full of him that I can now boldly declare, God be praised for everything in my life is exactly what He has planned out to be. If not for the afflictions that I had undergone in my life, whether it was my fault on not, it does not matter, for He has used everything to  bring me to this place where I have come to have a true relationship with my maker. All I want to tell Jesus is THANK YOU, for drawing me to Him.

The next scripture has taken root in my heart for the last 3 years, and has helped me through many difficult times to live in hope and not in fear.

God has commanded us in Joshua 1:9 " Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

No matter what, we must be diligent in doing what He has commanded us to do, for it is written very clearly that He is rewarder  of those who diligently seek to do His will.

I pray for all you, that everyday you will meditate on the WORD OF GOD and be diligent in doing His will.

God Bless
